My Mom died over 18 years ago. I was thinking how different our world has become in that time. So here are 5 things that would blow her mind if she could return for a visit.( of course this is all assuming that she's too busy in Heaven making art, playing with dogs, holding babies and playing cards with my Grandmas to check out whats happening here;) )
- Computers and the Internet...I am certain that she never would have imagined how much we ALL use them, and have them in our homes. Her own parents' regular use of computers would astound her!
- I think it would amaze her to know that our next president could very likely end up being a woman or a black man. People talked about this 20 years ago, but who really believed that it would happen so soon? Look how far we've come...
- The fact that almost everyone carries a cell phone at all times. Even children! And people are turning off their land lines. When we move to Whitehall, we still had a party-line with several neighbors!
- That I am SO blonde ;)
- That I am the daughter with 3 kids and a (mostly) stay-at-home-mom and Rachael is the one working full time with 2 kids and getting her degree. She would be so proud of us both, just a little confused by the role reversal!( Rachael is a born mother, me-not so much)
There are a lot more things but I pick 5. Its all kinda fun to think about.
Enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather. I hope it holds out for Saturday. We have Summer's 1st soccer game and you can be sure that the "Mamaratzzi" will be in full effect! Watch for pics this weekend!

I love that picture of Mom...she is so beautiful. Dad must have went crazy over her legs, so skinny and tan!
It is fun to think about all the things she wouldn't beleive and I also like to think about all the things she would love about this day and age too. I definately think she would have loooved scrapbooking and of course anything to do with our kids. I believe she would probably beat you to all of Summer's soccer games and probably pack a snack for the whole team too. So what are the little things you miss the most? Here's mine: I miss the sound of her filing her nails; I miss her habit of shaking her legs when they were crossed; I miss HER sloppy joes and scotcharoos; I miss seeing her with a glass bottle of Diet Coke. I miss her saying my name; I just miss her...
I really enjoyed this post. I think your mom would be so proud of both you and your sister. You both have turned out (not that you were ever bad:)) into such WONDERFUL caring people. As a wife, mother, and friend...these qualities had to be shown to you...and your mother showed you how to be great people. I am so sorry that you did not have more time with your mom and I am even more sorry for the "pain" of missing her. I can not imagine!
I have to say, I think she is enjoying her view of watching your family and Rachael's. I think she has got the best view in the house and has a smile from ear to ear!
For the record, my most vivid memory of your mom is also her tan legs and the tannest FEET I have ever seen on a person. SO jeolous!!! Tan...what's that???

Oh Jenn I'm sure she would be in total shock with all the technical advances! You guys really had a party line? Wow! One thing I'm sure does not shock her one bit is what wonderful mothers and women you and Rachel are. I'm sure she is so proud as she looks down at the two of you. I'm sorry I never got the privlege of meeting her, but could always feel the love that you had for her whenever she was mentioned from both you and Rae. Thanks for sharring a bit of her with me. <3
this post made me cry, it must be so difficult without your Mom, I take mine for granted so very often. You and your sister are two very amazing young women and your Mom would be so proud of the two of you.
